It’s the final week of Lent, and as we enter into Holy Week, we’re feeling incredibly blessed. We’re also wrapping up Project Week, and though it’s a short three-day week, it’s packed with creativity, excitement, and community! Don’t miss our Project Showcase Night this Wednesday—a special evening to celebrate all the amazing work our students have done. We’d love to see you.
Here is an overview of Holy Week:
Palm Sunday – Jesus enters Jerusalem.
Holy Monday – Jesus clears the temple.
Holy Tuesday – Jesus teaches in the temple.
Holy Wednesday (Spy Wednesday) – Judas plans to betray Jesus.
Maundy Thursday – The Last Supper.
Good Friday – Jesus is crucified.
Holy Saturday – Jesus rests in the tomb.
Easter Sunday – Jesus rises from the dead.

-Monday, April 14: Art club at lunch & karaoke club after school until 4.
-Tuesday, April 15: Grade four badminton after school until 4:05.
-Wednesday, April 16: Project Week showcase night from 4:15-7:15 (everyone welcome to attend).
There will be no badminton after school for grade five.
-Thursday, April 17: Holy Thursday-No School
-Friday, April 18: Good Friday-No School
-Monday, April 21: Easter Monday-No School 🫶🏼

We were honored to welcome Father Michael, Father Francis, Father Trini, and Father Aureus to École St. Mary School today. They spoke with students about reconciliation and offered those who have received the Sacraments the opportunity to go to confession. All other students received a special Easter blessing. What a meaningful and beautiful way to begin the upcoming Holy Week.

Badminton season has officially begun at Ecole St. Mary. Our grade four students kicked things off today with enthusiasm as they explored the equipment and practiced drills to get ready for the games starting next week. The energy was high, and everyone is pumped for the competition ahead!
Grade 5 students will take the court tomorrow, and grade 6 will join in Thursday after school!
We can't wait to see all our athletes in action! Let’s make this our best badminton season yet.

Whitecourt Challenger Baseball is an inclusive program for children of all abilities to play baseball in a fun and safe environment. In order for this program to be successful, we rely on volunteers to support our athletes. Ideally, we would like one-to-one support for each of our athletes.

Currently we are in need of volunteers. We are hoping you will share this information about our program to your staff and families. If you work at a junior high/high school, please share this information with your students. This is a great opportunity for students to get volunteer hours for phys ed or religion hours.

Project Week kicks off this Thursday! We’re thrilled to reveal the theme to our students and embark on an inspiring journey of student-led learning. Stay tuned for all the amazing things they'll create and discover!
-Monday, April 7: Karaoke club after school until 4, & crib club at lunch.
-Tuesday, April 8: Badminton after school for grade 4 & art club at lunch.
-Wednesday, April 9: Mass at St. Joseph Parish @ 10:45, badminton after school grade five & Ecole St. Joseph School Whitecourt Open House.
-Thursday, April 10: Project Week begins, grade six badminton after school & hang out with Ms. Ellis.
-Friday, April 11: Father Michael visiting grade four & pizza day.
